The Barry Clayman Group Home Program
- Ten single family structures, located in Boca Raton and Delray Beach, FL accommodating six to eight adults, depending on licensing regulations
- Individual, private bedrooms that are fully furnished
- Large common areas for leisure and recreational use
- Trained, nurturing care givers who are on staff whenever the home is occupied
- Individual service plans designed to meet each person’s needs
- Social, recreational and cultural programs in the evenings and weekends
- Participation in daily living skills including meal preparation, laundry, and home maintenance
Group Home Admission Requirements:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Have a documented intellectual disability but may have a secondary disability such as epilepsy, cerebral palsy, etc. This program does not meet the needs of persons with severe emotional or behavioral impairments
- Possess basic self-help skills to such a degree that he/she can care for most of his/her own self care needs, assist in the maintenance of his/her own living quarters, care for personal clothing and share in household responsibilities
- Demonstrate the adaptive behavior and social skills necessary to succeed in our environment
- Must not require physical restraint for safety purposes
- Receive a determination that living in a JARC group home will be of benefit and in accordance with assessed needs
- Participate in meaningful day programming that has been agreed upon by JARC Staff, the family, and the resident
- Provide a recent medical and psychological evaluation (within 6 months)
- Consent to receiving a JARC assessment battery which may include evaluation of adaptive behavior and medical, psychiatric, and/or psychological reports.
