Our JARC program participants have the same wants and desires as we all do. Most have family relationships and caregivers. Having you in their life gives them another dimension, a friend to count on. What activities you do with the JARC participant will be determined by your individual strengths and needs. Volunteer positions are flexible, please let us know if you have any questions or need assistance in making your experience a success!
Who should volunteer?
Active adults of any age who are of good character and enjoy the company of others. Students wishing to earn community service hours and Scouts completing an Eagle Project are also welcomed as are students Bat/Bar Mitzvah projects.
Whom will I volunteer with?
The men and women with intellectual or developmental disabilities who participate in the JARC vocational and residential programs.
When would I volunteer?
Whenever it is convenient for you and the program participant.
What would I do?
Volunteers are matched with a program participant according to the interests and special talents of the volunteer and the participant. Some suggested activities are:
- Teaching arts and crafts
- Friendly visitor

- Tutoring (math or reading)
